🟦 Heat Pump Grants for Apartments — Important Information

Apartments are eligible for the full SEAI heat pump grants, including the €6,500 Air-to-Water Heat Pump. However, most apartments cannot physically install this type of system due to building layout and management restrictions.

⚠️ Why Most Apartments Cannot Install Air-to-Water Systems

No private outdoor space for the external heat pump unit
Management companies often do not allow external equipment in shared areas
Noise and structural requirements may not be met

Deep Retrofit Energy Upgrades

A deep retrofit is a full-home upgrade designed to significantly improve energy efficiency, comfort and heating costs. These projects typically combine multiple improvements such as insulation, heating system upgrades, ventilation improvements, and renewable energy measures to reach a higher BER rating.

Who Can Get SEAI Grants?

Most Irish homeowners and landlords qualify for standard grants. Low-income households may be eligible for fully funded upgrades at no cost.
